HISTORY
HOW IT STARTED
The Spirit began planting the vision for Renovation Church in the hearts of some eager followers in January 2016. Rick and Gloria Cobb, along with some others who expressed an interest in wanting to expand the kingdom of God, all met to pray for God’s direction in the Cobb’s living room in June 2016.
From these prayer meetings, Renovation was actually born as Heart to Heart Christian Fellowship on October 9th, 2016. The first meeting of Heart to Heart was held in an airplane hangar on West Cougar Lane in China Spring, Texas.
The church sought direction and guidance from God, always remaining open to whatever He called Heart to Heart to be and wherever he called them to plant. Larry Cathey, Pastor of Freedom of God Ministries, allowed Heart to Heart to use a building on Highway 6 about 5 miles from the airplane hangar. The church moved and began meeting there on July 2nd, 2017.

God moved mightily in the heart of our pastor, Rick Cobb, giving him a strong vision for Heart to Heart Christian Fellowship. Rick understood that God was clearly calling this church to be a Luke 14 church that exhibited kingdom values and characteristics, visibly displaying relationships as expressed in Ephesians 2.
We are to be a fellowship where human-made barriers are torn down in Christ Jesus, where all are invited, welcomed, and wanted. We are seeking to be a fellowship of believers that serve, worship, disciple and share God’s grace verbally and physically.

As we were living out this vision, Heart to Heart was able to purchase a building at 4900 Sanger Ave, Waco, Texas.
We had our first gathering in this new location on December 10th, 2017. We had our official “Grand Opening” on January 28th, 2018. As we continued to follow, listening for the guidance of God, He clarified that vision for us even more.
Reminding us of Paul’s words in Romans 5, “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus steps into the “mess” of our lives “while we are a mess” and renovates us from the inside out. God wants us to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, and celebrate with others as they experience the change he creates in their lives.
Thus, we re-branded, and Renovation Church was reborn.
